Unpack the New Quality Standards
4 Part Briefing Series | Feb-April
Join our independent experts who will unpack the detail on each of the New Standards with a focus only on CHSP & HCP priority issues. We cut through the noise with live Q&A on what needs to get done, by when.
Standard 1 -
The Person
Thursday, 29 February
2:30 pm - 3:45 pm AEDT
The Person is both at the centre of the new Standards and our advice about how to succeed. This session will focus on practical strategies for your organisation to enhance its processes and communications with consumers and families. Our experts for this session are:
Jess Quilty, a leading disability industry expert on person-centred compliance with over 5 years experience putting Choice and Control into practice in the NDIS.
Anne Muldowney from OPAN provided a consumer perspective to the development of the new standards, so she knows both the intent and practical application.
Standard 2 - The Organisation
Thursday, 14 March
2pm - 3:15 pm AEDT
The Organisation standard is the merging of several current Standards into one. We will unpack how to support your governing body and management to meet their new obligations. We will cover the big ticket issues from consumer engagement and workforce planning to managing staff and mitigating risks. Our expert for this session:
These two Standards fit so well together, we will cover them in one Briefing.
Care & Services: we will discuss how to align your practice with the documentation required and navigating the tricky areas at the intersections of care management, support work, external contractors, working with family members and representatives.
The Environment: there’s a lot to be learned from current ‘environment’ audits that we will share. Our experts will explain the changes in Social Support environments and give practical (and essential) advice to manage infection prevention and control in the new world.
Standards 3 & 4 - Care & Services and The Environment
Thursday, 4 April.
2pm - 3:15 pm AEDT
Louise Hanialakis has held a diverse range of senior roles in home care and has an in-depth knowledge of the practice and policy requirements for the new Standards.
Standard 5 - Clinical Care
Tuesday, 16 April 2pm - 3:15 pm AEDT
One of the most controversial Standards we will tackle includes how (on earth) we manage Clinical Care needs where many staff are not clinically trained or when Clinical Care needs are often episodic. Our special guest Clare Cameron will work with our experts to outline the types of assessments required – and who can conduct them. We will also cover off ideas for dealing with managing high-impact risks. Our expert for this session is:
Clare Cameron has experience as a Quality Assessor, RN and a trainer. That’s a sensational combination for supporting your compliance with the new Standards.
Mark Sewell knows the challenges of organisational quality systems from both governance and management perspectives. He has done the hard yards as a CEO for 20 years and is a current Director of Wesley Mission and ACCPA.
